Currently I am reading Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis in my C.S. Lewis literature class. I must claim that it is one of my favorite classic novels by him. Till We Have Faces is a retold myth of two mortal princess- one beautiful and the other ugly- Lewis rewrites this invigorating classic myth of Cupid and Psyche into a significant piece of contemporary fiction. The two sisters, Orual and Psyche, live in the barbaric, pre-Christian world when they both discover two completely different sides of love. Psyche is loved by the god of love himself, Cupid. While Orual struggles to learn we can not fully know the intent of the “gods”. It is a fascinating tale retold, and I would highly recommend the read.
