The Snare of Beauty by Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr.

Very Interesting article on beauty and attractiveness. It sheds light on so many aspects of what our culture believes is beauty. We as Christian Women can get so caught up in this, we need to come to reality of what the bible defines as beauty, not what the world says. The pattern of this world we are not to follow, but the absolute and infallible Word of the Living God we are to LIVE by. I would encourage all women to read this and remember or read 1 Peter 3:1-6. These verses clearly describe what the Lord finds beautiful and precious in His sight.

The Snare of Beauty

Holla!

So I have been going back to all my blog posts and I have noticed that they have a lot of time in between them and they start off saying “I have not been on here in a long time….”because of life…”, “Things have been so busy……”, etc. Well today I start my blog post off with saying……..

LIFE HAS BEEN SO CRAZY!

But seriously. My wedding is in 4 weeks (32 days exact) and we are so excited! I have sent out my invitations (finally) and pretty much have gotten everything wrapped up. The Lord has been so good to us. We got our first place in a great location and I love it. Everything is piecing together and the Lord gives and takes away steadily. Life is wonderful. Something that I have been getting caught up in lately is stress and anxiety.. Two sins that are inevitable in wedding planning. Matthew 6 and 7 have been soothing to my soul and refreshing to my bones. (Proverbs 3) I have been noticing how unsuccessful stress and anxiety has gotten me and how successful the Lord’s Word has been in my life. The Lord’s perfect plan will be done no matter what our aimless pursuits are in the flesh and it has taken a lot of wrestling with my sin to bring myself to that conclusion. He has defeated me everytime and has made me rise up tall in the righteousness and truth He has given me. What a wonderful Father he is to us! All in all like James says, ” Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” (James 1:2-3), which also proves Romans 8:28 about all things working together for good. Always know that the very circumstance you are in is God’s best for you. I so much of the time see the situations he has put me in my life and have scoffed at them saying “what is this worthless manna” much like the Hebrews said to the manna the Lord brought with the dew. Manna the Lord created himself and provided for the people so they could live and be filled… So much of the time do I do this. I always have to remember how the Lord is working everything out for my good and his glory. Still he continues to bless us.

The BIG day is so soon and I can not wait to marry the love of my life!

Just a little Update!

{I Rest My Weary Soul In Thee}

The Church Visiting Cathey in the hospital singing Hymns to her.

Cathey’s Home Fellowship group singing hymns and songs to her a few days before she passed.

Last night around 7:00pm a dear sweet lady, Cathey Marie Tierney, went to the Lord. I remember when I first met her and I sat down and told her my testimony and when I finished she just hugged me.. That was my first experience with this radiant woman and I will never forget it. Cathey beamed with Christ everywhere she went. She constantly had a smile and kind words for everyone. When you mentioned God to her she could go on and on with eyes and a voice of excitement, anticipating the moment of His presence on earth or in heaven. She has battled with cancer for 5 years and she has reached the goal of every Christian. To be with the Lord and made just like Christ. Currently she is in heaven worshiping the Lord perfectly and forever. What a glorious thought. I can not wait for the day that I meet my Lord and Savior. If you are reading this I would ask that you would pray for all the grieving family members and that they would all be comforted in the truth that she is where she has always wanted to be. The sting of death has passed and now she is healed and rejoicing. I will always remember her and continually be encouraged by the testimony of her life on this earth. I will also remember her face when I visited her at the hospital, so ready for heaven. I love you Cathey and I will see you soon.

O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go

O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

O light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.

O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.

O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

{Psalm 15}

Tonight I was reading Psalm 15 and was greatly encouraged on how a believer lives righteously for the Lord:

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?

Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right

and speaks truth in his heart;

who does not slander with his tongue

and does no evil to his neighbor,

nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

in whose eyes a vile person is despised,

but who honors those who fear the Lord;

who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

 who does not put out his money at interest

and does not take a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things shall never be moved.

{Psalm 15}

On reading John MacArthur’s notes he states that Psalm 15 is possibly the most ultimate question-and-answer sessions out of all the Psalms. You see throughout the Psalm it’s a sequence of responses to the question of acceptable worship.

A Little Outline by John MacArhtur:

lll. A one part guarantee (vs.5c)

I just wanted to share what my devotion was about tonight and hopefully encourage others to be living strongly for our God and Savior. “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” {Philippians 3:14}
